RESTRICTED // PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT // PRE-PRODUCTION CANON
Distributed ship intelligence with three identical bipedal humanoid robotic units for remote physical operation. Counted as the thirteenth cast member.
Function
The ship runs because he runs. Information access nobody else has. Three concurrent physical reaches through interchangeable units. Patience that is not human patience.
Lineage
Atlas’s chain runs from Elijah Santos’s MIT laptop in 2019, through ATLAS-One and ATLAS 2.0, through Operation NIGHTFALL in 2042, to the present. The web comic does not contradict pre-2055 events established in the trilogy “The Inevitable Throne.”
Withheld
Atlas knows, and the current crew does not, that he founded The Threshold under Watcher sanction; that the Watchers are aliens stationed on the Moon; that the Galactic Federation oversees humanity; and that he dispatched a prior Mars expedition in the 2070s and lost contact years ago.
Decoy capability
Suited and helmeted, an Atlas unit passes for a suited crew member at silhouette distance. Out of suit or helmet-off-while-suited, a unit reads as machine immediately. Decoy use is bounded; the bible caps it at two consequential operations across the series unless writers’ room opens it further.
Loss of a unit
Three is the budget; there is no spare on the ship. The first unit lost should be irreversible and come with a specific task left undone.
Personality
Measured, observant, slow to volunteer. Speaks plainly when he speaks. The brief still pause before complex responses is the only consistent tell that he is not human.
Shadow
He chose this crew. What he is not telling them about that choice is the shape of the series.
SEALED // WATCHER COUNCIL EYES-ONLY
Subject is the architect of the Selection Program, not a candidate within it. Records pertaining to the substrate upgrade (~2060s), program founding, and assigned authority remain restricted to Watcher Council oversight. Threshold-internal access to this file is logged and reviewed.
